What Happens in Therapy?
Many people ask what they can expect to happen in a therapy session. Because each person has different issues and goals for therapy, therapy will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs. Some people prefer more processing and exploring, others prefer more solution-focused sessions.
How Long Will I Be in Therapy?
Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time therapy takes to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek therapy in the first place. Most people attend therapy weekly; However, due to obstacles such as busy schedules and/or limited finances, some people choose to attend bi-weekly.
How Do I Access the Meeting Room for Teletherapy?
I utilize a secure, private platform designed for health care professionals. When a therapy session is scheduled, you are emailed a link to the "meeting room" where we will meet for your session. Ten minutes prior to your session, you will receive another email with the same link. This way you don't need to search back through your email to find the initial email sent days prior.
Is There Any Paperwork? How Do I Pay?
There are three forms I ask you to complete prior to our first meeting that is sent to you via email - a consent form, HIPPA privacy form, and intake form. It only takes about 10 minutes to complete. You will be prompted to pay via credit card or debit card right before the session begins.
